Air cadets from 195 (Grimsby) Squadron are this week celebrating after their hard work paid off, earning the local cadet unit an early Christmas donation.
The cadets, aged between 12 – 18 years old, last week offered shoppers at Morrison’s in Cleethorpes help packing their bags in return for a donation to their Squadron.
After over 6 hours of packing shopping bags, the cadets had raised a whopping total of £1422.83.
Flight Lieutenant Terance Shird, Commanding Officer of 195 Squadron, said: “I’m extremely proud of the cadets and staff that helped out on the day, as well as to Morrison’s, Cleethorpes, for allowing us to do the bag packing in their store.
“The money raised by the cadets’ momentous effort will help fund our exciting activities and camps in the coming year.”
