Fifty three musically talented Air Cadets from across Central & East Region, RAF Air Cadets, came together at Royal Air Force Station, Henlow, to practice their musical skills in preparation for another busy year of performances.
Under the direction of Squadron Leader Alan Glover and a dedicated staff team both the Marching Band and the Concert Band were put through their paces during a weekend schedule of hard practice that aimed at unifying the many individual talents into high quality musical units.
The cadets came from squadrons across the Region and were joined by Combined Cadet Force Air Cadets from King Edward IV Grammar School, Louth and The Perse School, Cambridge.
The drummers and Drum Majors of the Marching Band practised their percussion and marching skills outside in a sometimes bitter January wind .
“ The weekend has gone really well” said Squadron Leader Alan Glover, adding: “They are a fantastic bunch of cadets and this weekend has seen the largest assembly of the Region’s musically talented cadets. There is a lot planned for the both the concert and marching band this year and its been great to see so many cadets from across the Region coming together and performing in such harmony”.
Central and East Region are still on the lookout for musicians of Grade 3 and above to join this talented group and fulfil the engagements already in the diary. If you are interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
