Royal Air Force Air Cadets from across Nottingham joined with others of the Royal Air Force “Family” to celebrate the Royal Air Force’s centenary in Nottingham’s Market square.
Supported by the Volunteer staff from many of the Nottingham Squadrons, the cadets were on hand to encourage recruitment into the Air Cadets, considered to be the one country’s premier youth organisations. The cadets were also proving great ambassadors for the organisation engaging with the general public and spreading the RAF Air Cadet Message.
The Stand was visited by the Sheriff of Nottingham, Councillor Glyn Jenkins, during his walk about and spent time in discussion with Flight Lieutenant Phil Bannister, the Officer with responsibility for the cadets. The Sheriff also talked with the cadets and showed considerable interest in their activities.
All the Nottingham Squadrons are recruiting both cadets and staff so this was a golden opportunity for them.
